Tex
My GPRA name is Tex and I’m a 1-year-old, 88 lb. boy ready for a permanent collar tag. If you’re curious, I started life as a working dog, graduated to wandering, landed in a shelter, got adopted from, then returned to a shelter, and finally rescued by GPRA. Yep, all this change during the last 12 months is why I’m an interesting blend of perfect house dog and stray. I’m a dream on a leash, ignore cats, and am so grateful for bottomless bowls of clean water. I’m housetrained and my foster family is helping me unlearn counter surfing and trash diving. They’re also patiently working through my picky eating habits: “no thank you” to peanut butter and green beans; “yes, please” to chicken, cheese, and cat food. I know I’m not supposed to eat it, but it’s delicious! I don’t like baths or loud noises and I’m having a lot of fun with my canine sister. She’s been with this family for years and I appreciate her teaching me how to be a lovable, well-behaved Great Pyrenees. Want to see how much I’ve learned already? All you have to do is please email info@greatpyratlanta.com or click “Apply to Adopt” below.
Donate to Great Pyrenees Rescue of Atlanta
Our main mission at GPRA is to find the right permanent home for Great Pyrenees in distress, whether they are strays or from an overpopulated kill or no-kill shelter. We don’t care how old they are or what their medical condition is because we will make sure they receive a comprehensive medical evaluation, spaying or neutering, and even behavioral training if necessary.
