Xena

I’m Xena, a 2 year old, 72 lb failed working dog who, after moving inside with my first GPRA family, is proudly housebroken, known as a sweet angel out in public, and a welcome visitor at Camp Bow Wow. I’ve been behaving a little differently at home, though, and I’m thinking maybe I need an alpha-human to help me feel calm and secure? Lots of people don’t know this but when dogs feel nervous or unsure of things, or sense stress, we sometimes protect ourselves by being a little aggressive. Kind of confusing but true.  I’m happy to say I’ve never attacked anyone although I’m wondering if kids’ higher pitched voices and constant activity might overwhelm me.  And while we’re talking dog-training stuff, I should tell you I respond to positive reinforcement much better than correction methods. I am fine being home alone, but like other young dogs, I might confuse shoes for chew toys. We can work that out, though, if you’re a strong leader and good with the training thing we talking about!
