My Story

Hi, I’m Michelle, but my foster family lovingly calls me Phoebe. I may be a little shy when we first meet, but if you give me a little patience, you’ll discover the sweetest, gentlest girl hiding underneath.

Life hasn’t always been easy for me, so I’m still learning that people can be kind. I don’t rush into new friendships, but once I feel safe, I absolutely love being petted. In fact, if you stop, I’ll quietly let you know I’d like a little more! My foster family says I’m incredibly docile and don’t have a mean bone in my body.
I’m a pretty easygoing girl. Most days you’ll find me happily watching the world go by, taking naps, or relaxing beside my people. One of my favorite things is my evening walk. Every now and then my inner puppy comes out, and I just have to roll around in the grass! Those little moments make everyone smile.
I’m house-trained, walk nicely on a leash, enjoy being brushed, respect fences, and ride well in the car once I’m comfortable. My foster family even took me on a road trip, and being together as our own little pack helped me come out of my shell. They saw a happier, more confident side of me, and they know it’s only the beginning.
I’m very food motivated (so treats are always appreciated!) and I’m happy to relax inside with you or spend time outdoors soaking up the fresh air. I especially love simply being near my people, whether that’s lying on the floor beside you or curling up on the couch during a quiet evening.
Because I’m still building confidence, I’d do best with a family that understands I need a little time to adjust. I’m comfortable with my foster brother, but I can be wary of unfamiliar dogs, so slow introductions are important. Once I know I’m safe, my sweet personality shines brighter every day.
