My Story
Hi, I’m Ringo Starr!
I’m a handsome, independent guy with a big heart and an even bigger smile! I may take a minute to warm up to new people, but once I know you’re my friend, I’ll happily share one of my favorite things…my signature hugs! I’ll gently put my paws on your shoulders and soak up all the love you’re willing to give.
I’m a medium-energy boy who enjoys a nice walk followed by some epic zoomies around the yard. My foster says I’m incredibly fast, and my long legs help me fly across the grass like I’m training for the Puppy Olympics! Once I’ve burned off a little energy, I’m perfectly happy lounging in the air conditioning or relaxing on a comfy dog bed.
I’m house-trained, keep my kennel nice and clean, and I’m a bit of a grazer when it comes to meals. I enjoy treats, especially wet food, and I never say no to a good Benebone to keep me entertained. I ride well in the car with a little encouragement getting in, and I’m always ready for our next adventure.
I’m looking for an experienced family that understands confident dogs like me. I can be selective about my canine friends and do best with a respectful dog who doesn’t mind giving me a little space. Once boundaries are established, I do well with the right match. I’d also love a family who will continue building my confidence, as I can be a little shy when meeting new people or being touched unexpectedly.
If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a playful spirit, a gentle heart, and hugs that will make your day, I just might be the perfect addition to your family. I can’t wait to meet you!

Our main mission at GPRA is to find the right permanent home for Great Pyrenees in distress, whether they are strays or from an overpopulated kill or no-kill shelter. We don’t care how old they are or what their medical condition is because we will make sure they receive a comprehensive medical evaluation, spaying or neutering, and even behavioral training if necessary.
