My Story
Hi there! My name is Rita 🐾
I’m currently hanging out in boarding while I wait for my foster or forever family to find me… and everyone says I’m making it pretty easy to love me.
I’m a very friendly girl with a calm, easygoing personality. When other dogs walk by my kennel, I don’t make a fuss — I’m happy to just watch what’s going on. Out in the parking lot, I’m curious and interested in other dogs and would love to say hello and make new friends.
I walk nicely on a leash and don’t seem bothered by traffic, cars, or loud noises. Sometimes I just like to stop and watch the world go by — there’s so much to see!
The people caring for me say I’m sweet and friendly. I enjoy attention but I’m also independent enough that I don’t demand it all the time… kind of the perfect balance if you ask me. I’m comfortable being touched and petted and I’m happy to soak up affection whenever it comes my way.
I’m housebroken, not food aggressive, and I eat all my meals like a champ (although I wouldn’t complain if you added something extra tasty once in a while 😏).
What I’d really love now is to trade my boarding kennel for a cozy home, some walks, a soft bed, and people to call my own.
Could you be my foster… or my forever? 💗

Our main mission at GPRA is to find the right permanent home for Great Pyrenees in distress, whether they are strays or from an overpopulated kill or no-kill shelter. We don’t care how old they are or what their medical condition is because we will make sure they receive a comprehensive medical evaluation, spaying or neutering, and even behavioral training if necessary.
