My Story

Hi, I’m Estrellita—but my foster family also calls me Lina or Lina-bear—and I’m a sweet, loving girl looking for my forever home šŸ’›

I can be a little shy when we first meet, but once I feel safe, my affectionate side really shines. I love being close to my people, soaking up pets and belly rubs, and curling up nearby while you go about your day. When you come home, I’ll happily greet you with a gentle sit and tuck my head into you for snuggles—it’s one of my favorite things.

I’ve got an athletic streak in me and when the zoomies hit, watch out—I’m fast! I especially love grabbing a toy and prancing around like a little kangaroo, entertaining myself with solo play. That said, I’m also great at settling down. If everyone’s relaxing inside, I’m perfectly happy to nap on the carpet near the bed or lounge quietly nearby.

I’m very food-motivated (treats are the way to my heart!), and I already know sit and come. I’m house-trained, crate-trained, and I don’t have any food aggression—even the cats have stolen kibble right from my bowl without me minding at all. Speaking of cats, I’m wonderful with them: gentle, curious, and playful when they get the zooms, but always respectful.

On walks, I start out excited and may pull a bit at first, but I settle into a nicer pace after a few minutes and redirect well when you guide me. I’m curious about other dogs and would love to meet them, though I can be a little cautious at first—quick sniffs and then I might scoot back until I feel confident. I notice squirrels (they look very chaseable!) and kids catch my attention more than adults, but overall I’m just interested in the world around me.

I’m learning to find my voice and will bark occasionally when I see dogs or people through the window during the day, but I’m quiet at night. New noises can startle me at first, but I’m a brave girl—I’ll retreat to my ā€œsafe spot,ā€ assess the situation, and then venture back out once I realize everything’s okay.

Like many young dogs, I sometimes get extra playful and may jump or play-bite when I’m really excited. I’m still working on learning calmer play, so I’d do best with families who can help guide me through that, especially if little kids are around.

I take comfort in having a confident dog friend and really enjoy following their lead, but I’m also perfectly fine doing my own thing. Most of all, I just want to be part of a family—close by, included, and loved.

If you’re looking for a gentle, affectionate, playful companion with a sweet personality and a heart full of love, I might be your girl. I can’t wait to meet you 🐾✨

Donate to Great Pyrenees Rescue of Atlanta

Our main mission at GPRA is to find the right permanent home for Great Pyrenees in distress, whether they are strays or from an overpopulated kill or no-kill shelter. We don’t care how old they are or what their medical condition is because we will make sure they receive a comprehensive medical evaluation, spaying or neutering, and even behavioral training if necessary.
