My Story

Hi there! My name’s Princess Goose, also known as Goosey Goose.

I’ve had quite the adventure lately. I was out there, roaming the neighborhood, just doing my thing—sniffing around, exploring, and living life to the fullest. But then, something amazing happened. A nice family found me! Since my owners could not be found, they brought me to GPRA.

Now, I’m in a foster home and doing really well!

I’m a gentle and affectionate girl who loves to spend time relaxing and having fun. I’m a little on the shy side, but warmed up quickly to my new foster family. I’m curious and smart, and I have a silly side that pops out during playtime – especially when we’re playing a game of tag. I’m pretty quiet, but I do bark when I’m excited, like when I’m ready to chase after someone….for fun!

I’ve got a big love for chicken – it’s my favorite treat, and I’ll even eat my meals a little faster when it’s mixed in. I’m not picky, though! While I’m not a huge toy lover, I do enjoy chasing balls and then relaxing next to them when they stop.

I’m a big fan of walks, but don’t expect me to race! I like to take it easy and enjoy the sights and smells. I’m great on a leash and am all about a steady, relaxed pace. I’m still learning some new tricks, like “touch,” but I’m eager to please and will get the hang of things soon enough. I’m still figuring out how to feel about some things – loud noises, fast movements, and some dogs can be a little scary, but I’m all about avoiding confrontation and finding a peaceful solution.

In my foster home, I get along well with Bullfrog, the senior pit bull. I enjoy spending time with him and lying next to him when we nap. I also like sleeping on really soft stuff on the floor (I haven’t quite figured out furniture yet). I’m house-trained, and I’ve been pretty good about going outside when I need to. I’ve even managed some quiet alone time without causing any trouble – I just need a little space and freedom to roam.

While I’m not sure about baths yet, I enjoy getting pets and head rubs. I also tolerate having my paws touched. I don’t drool much, and I don’t counter-surf or chew things I shouldn’t. I’ve got a cute little quirk – I love the water spigot in the backyard. When I’m thirsty, I’ll walk up to it, and you can turn it on so I can drink to my heart’s content. It’s like my own little fountain!

As for cats? I’m not sure yet, so I’ll leave that mystery unsolved for now. But I do want to let everyone know that I’m a flight risk—so I need to be handled with care, especially around opened doors!

Though I can be a little hesitant with certain things, I’m making great progress and showing more of my playful side every day. Life’s looking pretty good right now, and I can’t wait to see what comes next. Who knows? Maybe a new forever family is just around the corner! Until then, I’m safe, loved, and ready for whatever adventures come my way.  💕
