I’ve heard there’s a big gray bear from a kid’s movie with my same name. Wow! Does that mean I’m famous? I’m definitely a big pyr boy, and I do have some beautiful badger markings! I’m also famously good with people. My GPRA friends say I’m a cuddly teddy bear who likes attention and lots of pets. Brushing is kind of like getting pets too, so I love to be brushed! Foster Mama tells me that I’m a velcro dog, so I like to stay by her side while she’s working from home. I’m an amazing co-worker because I’m bear-y easy on the eyes and my snores are light enough not to get picked up on Zoom! Bears have to hibernate sometimes, and I take my naps midday. I really would benefit from a family who is home more often than not or even a household where one person works from home because I get nervous when I’m home by myself. Between Baloo (that’s me) and you, people are the honey to this bear! While my human family is the center of my world, I love other dogs too. I have a foster dog sibling, and all I want is for us to play like two bear cubs! It would be great to have a yard and a doggy companion around my size in my new home. Us bears are climbers by nature, so I’ll need a six-foot fence to stay safe. The cartoon Baloo sings and dances which means he is light on his feet. I walk very gracefully too because I’m good on the leash. While film Baloo lives in the jungle, I like to live in a house. The great thing is that I’m basically housetrained; I haven’t had an accident yet! I may not have a movie deal like my namesake, but I’ll make you a deal: adopt me and I’ll love you forever and always.

Our main mission at GPRA is to find the right permanent home for Great Pyrenees in distress, whether they are strays or from an overpopulated kill or no-kill shelter. We don’t care how old they are or what their medical condition is because we will make sure they receive a comprehensive medical evaluation, spaying or neutering, and even behavioral training if necessary.
