My Story
Hi there! I’m Oberon, but my friends call me Obie. I’m a charming and playful pup on the lookout for my forever family, and I’d love to share a bit about myself from my perspective!
I’m a confident, outgoing boy with a heart full of love and a playful spirit. Whether I’m playing fetch in the backyard, engaging in silly antics, or curling up beside you for a nap, I’m all about fun and companionship. My foster family says I’m incredibly smart—I learn new commands quickly and love to show off my skills. I know how to sit, stay, give kisses, and even touch my nose to your hand. Training is one of my favorite activities!
When it comes to food, I’m a true foodie! I’m motivated by treats of all kinds, from cheese and chicken to blueberries and carrots. Mealtime is an event, and I enjoy a little routine before diving into my bowl. Don’t worry, I’m not protective of my food; I happily share the space with my foster siblings during mealtime.
I love playing with toys, especially squeaky ones, and I have a knack for fetch! I’ll bring the ball back and drop it at your feet, ready for another round. My energy level is quite high, but I also know how to relax and enjoy some downtime, whether it’s lounging on my favorite dog bed or napping in front of a fan.
When I’m out and about, I’m curious about the world around me. My reaction to other dogs varies; sometimes I bark, but I’m learning that’s not always the best response. I’ve gotten better at just sitting quietly or looking at my humans for guidance when I see another dog. If I glance at them, my foster family encourages me with treats, and we’ve been working on staying calm during our walks. The more we practice, the better I get! At adoption events, I’ve even learned to ignore some dogs as we pass by, which makes me feel really proud.
At home, I’m very social and love being around my humans and furry siblings. I’m house-trained and communicate when I need to go outside, often sitting by the door. I also enjoy being brushed and love the attention from my humans. I follow my foster family around the house like a little shadow, sitting at their feet while they cook or do laundry. I just love being near them!
One of my cutest quirks? I absolutely adore water! Whether it’s chasing the hose in the yard or enjoying a bath, I can’t get enough of it. And the towel-down after a shower? Pure bliss!
If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a big heart and a playful spirit, I’d be thrilled to meet you! Together, we can create wonderful memories.
Donate to Great Pyrenees Rescue of Atlanta
Our main mission at GPRA is to find the right permanent home for Great Pyrenees in distress, whether they are strays or from an overpopulated kill or no-kill shelter. We don’t care how old they are or what their medical condition is because we will make sure they receive a comprehensive medical evaluation, spaying or neutering, and even behavioral training if necessary.
