Hellos. I am Nellie. Although timid, GPRA is helping me return to Great Pyrenees status. Unfortunately, since I am pretty scared of men, GPRA thinks I was abused or hurt at some point in my past life. Yes, I know it’s sad, but I’m doing my best to start the next chapter. Lucky for me, GPRA’s trainer is working with me and building my confidence and trust. Those yummy treats and lots of patience will help me open my Pyr heart again.
Here are a few things that GPRA’s volunteers know about me.
“Nellie is a sweet and curly angel. Her confidence grows each day!”
“Nellie is a little shy at first but warms up when she gets to know you. She is a curly-haired beauty and super sweet!”
“She is making great strides and even let me clean out her ears.”
“Nellie had the best time romping around the play yard with Festus. Both dogs enjoyed running back and forth together along the fence. (Yep, having a play buddy is fantastic and gives me a sense of security, too!)
So, that’s a bit of me. As my Pyr-confidence and happiness increase, I will keep you updated on my progress.
Pyrly yours, Nellie

Donate to Great Pyrenees Rescue of Atlanta

Our main mission at GPRA is to find the right permanent home for Great Pyrenees in distress, whether they are strays or from an overpopulated kill or no-kill shelter. We don’t care how old they are or what their medical condition is because we will make sure they receive a comprehensive medical evaluation, spaying or neutering, and even behavioral training if necessary.
