Great Pyrenees

You’d think maybe I play basketball, or at least fetch, based on my name but nope, not this 1-year-old, 104 lb. boy! I’m all about sleeping from 10:00 pm to 7:00 am, leash walks, and practicing my sit, lay down, and place commands.  Fully house-trained, lazy and laid back describe me well. I’m super playful and don’t need crating. In fact, you can trust me at home alone for six or eight hours. Speaking of trust, I do not like people or animals around my food. Can’t say why or how it happened but I simply do not trust them to leave enough for me. The humans call it “resource guarding”, I call it protecting my food. Maybe a home with older kids will be good since that sometimes mean a quieter, less chaotic environment? Or maybe you can at least please email info@greatpyratlanta.com, click “Contact Us” or choose “Apply to Adopt” below to talk with the GPRA folks about me? We all have our challenges, I’ll love you for yours if you love me for (and help me fix) mine.

Donate to Great Pyrenees Rescue of Atlanta

Our main mission at GPRA is to find the right permanent home for Great Pyrenees in distress, whether they are strays or from an overpopulated kill or no-kill shelter. We don’t care how old they are or what their medical condition is because we will make sure they receive a comprehensive medical evaluation, spaying or neutering, and even behavioral training if necessary.
